Real Alternatives Train-the-Trainers: advanced training on alternative refrigerants in May in Ireland

From May 11 to May 15, 2026, a new session of the Real Alternatives Train-the-Trainers (TOT) program will take place in Killybegs, County Donegal (Ireland). This initiative is aimed at certified trainers and industry experts who wish to deepen their technical and teaching skills regarding alternative refrigerants.

The program, organized within the Real Alternatives Europe network, is designed to support professionals involved in training on low GWP refrigerants, strengthening the quality and dissemination of courses dedicated to technological transition in the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump (RACHP) sector. The initiative offers an opportunity for technical update and exchange with other European trainers engaged in the development of skills required by the latest regulatory and market developments.

The training program will last a total of five days and will focus on practical activities and technical sessions dedicated to the main alternative refrigerants, with particular attention to safety, installation, and management aspects of the systems.

Technical Program

The activity schedule includes three main modules:

During the sessions, participants will tackle key topics for advanced technical training, including safety and risk management, installation and maintenance of systems, practical operation of systems, and the application of best practices in line with the evolution of European regulations.

Meetings and Networking Moments

In addition to technical activities, the program also includes moments of discussion between participants and stakeholders in the sector. In fact, a Stakeholder Meeting for the Real Alternatives project is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

A Welcome Dinner will also be organized on the evening of Tuesday, May 12, providing participants the opportunity to meet and initiate professional exchanges in an informal setting. All activities will take place in Killybegs, County Donegal, and the organization will manage logistical transfers, including connections to and from the airport.

Registrations

Participation is primarily aimed at certified trainers and professionals with experience in the RACHP sector who are interested in expanding their role in training on alternative refrigerants. The registration deadline is set for March 16, 2026 and places are limited.
