The countdown has begun: in just two weeks, the international HVAC/R community will gather at the XXI European Conference on the Latest Technologies in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps, jointly organized by Centro Studi Galileo with the United Nations Environment Programme – UNEP OzonAction, the International Institute of Refrigeration – IIR, with the EU Association of RAC contractors AREA.
Within the prestigious setting of the Politecnico University of Milan, this year’s edition will be the most significant to date, featuring five high-level sessions, more than 60 speakers, and participation from all global continents.
Shaping the Future of European Policy
A highlight of the programme is the direct involvement of the European Commission, with Bente Tranholm Schwarz, Deputy Head of Unit at DG CLIMA, speaking about the latest regulatory developments, including the EU Regulation 573/2024 on F-gases. Attendees will gain exclusive insight into how Europe will move forward on refrigerants, energy efficiency, training and certification, PFAS, and climate goals — key elements that will redefine the sector’s trajectory over the next decade.
A Truly Global Perspective
From United Nations Agencies (e.g. UNEP) to leading international organisations such as ASHRAE, AHRI, U-3ARC, JSRAE, CAR, EPEE, INWIC, and from global manufacturers to academics, the speaker line-up represents the best minds in RACHP and sustainability. Keynote sessions will feature voices from North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, sharing strategies to tackle the climate challenge through innovation, regulation, and training.
Key Themes and Sessions
The conference will address:
- The future of refrigerants under the F-Gas Regulation and Kigali Amendment (Session I)
- Innovations in components and systems using alternative refrigerants (Session II)
- Policy, training, and market enforcement (Session III)
- Green cooling, energy efficiency, and heat pumps (Session IV)
- Digitalisation, predictive maintenance, and the cold chain (Session V)
Special attention will be given to gender inclusion and skills development, with a dedicated “Women in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” session and the Women in Cooling Video Competition Awards Ceremony.
