The Turkish Association of Refrigeration Industry and Businesspeople (SOSIAD) will organize a special event on 26 June 2026 to celebrate World Refrigeration Day, bringing together industry professionals, public authorities, international organizations, and academics. Held under the 2026 World Refrigeration Day theme, “Cool Intelligence,” the event will focus on sustainability, digital transformation, climate policies, and the future of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.
The programme will open with a welcome address by Türkay Yıldırım, President of SOSIAD. This will be followed by a presentation from Hayati Can, Vice President of SOSIAD, who will provide an overview of the association’s activities and recent developments affecting the refrigeration industry. During the event, Sezin Sönmez Erbaş, Climate Change Expert at the Turkish Climate Change Directorate, will introduce the COP31 agenda and discuss its implications for the sector.
An international perspective will be provided by Marco Buoni, International Affairs of AREA (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration European Association), who will deliver a presentation on the central role of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in modern society. Participants will also attend sessions covering the application of artificial intelligence in sustainable cooling, the first outcomes of the UNDP Cool Up demonstration projects, and recent developments related to ISK-SODEX exhibitions.
The event will conclude with a panel discussion featuring distinguished speakers from different stakeholder groups. The panel will explore the future of the refrigeration sector, climate action, energy efficiency, sustainable cooling solutions, and technological innovation.
Through this World Refrigeration Day celebration, SOSIAD aims to strengthen knowledge sharing, promote international cooperation, and support the transition towards more sustainable and innovative cooling technologies. The programme will conclude with a certificate presentation ceremony, a group photo session, and a networking cocktail reception.
