At the end of last year, Centro Studi Galileo outlined 2024’s internationals events in Paris

On November 29, 2023, several crucial meetings took place in Paris and set some milestones for the foundation of the joint activities between Centro Studi Galileo, IIR and UNEP OzonAction for 2024. Participation in the just-concluded COP28 in Dubai, where refrigeration was at the centre of the debate, was also discussed.

The first meeting of the day took place with Didier Coulomb, director of the International Institute of Refrigeration, followed by a subsequent meeting with UNEP. The roundtable discussion saw the participation of some of the key players in the sector, including Jim Curlin (Head of Branch, OzonAction – UNEP), Sonja Wagner (Programme Officer at OzonAction – UNEP), Marco Buoni (CEO of Centro Studi Galileo, Secretary of ATF, and Past President of AREA with a mandate for International Affairs), and Silvia Romanò (Chief International Affairs at Centro Studi Galileo).

The work for the International Special Issue 2024 begins: one of the main items on the agenda was the start of the Special International Issue of Industria&Formazione for 2024, the tenth edition of the volume. The authors to be invited and the sections of the new journal were outlined, along with hypotheses for the cover design.

Collaborations and Training Opportunities: The program of the day included a section dedicated to cooperation with UNEP in 2024, with particular emphasis on the UNEP-AREA training manual, the Refrigerants Driving License, and the training opportunities developed in collaboration with ATF.

Several events and the involvement of the INWIC network: One of the main objectives was the planning of a collateral event to celebrate the 20 years of Chillventa and the MOP36 (October 28th – November 1st, Bangkok). Several international authorities, including IEA, United for Efficiency, INWIC, UNEP, CAR, and Energy efficiency in Africa – Ghana, were invited to act as authors. The emphasis on gender equality was strongly highlighted through the participation of the INWIC network, with the aim of promoting the involvement of an increasing number of women in the HVAC industry.
