On 16 April 2025, a delegation from Centro Studi Galileo (CSG) and the Associazione Tecnici del Freddo (ATF), composed of Marco Buoni (CEO of CSG, Secretary of ATF and past President of AREA, currently active in International Affairs), Silvia Romanò (Chief International Affairs), and Luisa Girolami (Project Coordinator), took part in two high-level institutional meetings in Paris with UNEP OzonAction and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR).
At the UNEP OzonAction headquarters, the delegation met with Jim Curlin (Principal Programme Management, Law Division – DELC) and Sonja Wagner (Programme Management Office) to strengthen ongoing cooperation. Discussions included the organization of the special session “Women in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” at the upcoming XXI European Conference, which will also feature the Women In Cooling video competition. The meeting covered several topics, including the review of abstracts and the programme, and the updates to the UNEP–AREA training manual. Plans were also made for new training initiatives with ATF in 2025.

Later in the afternoon, the delegation met with Yosr Allouche (Director General at the International Institute of Refrigeration) and Nathalie de Grissac (Head of Communications) at the IIR headquarters. The meeting reviewed the structure of the XXI European Conference programme, speaker sequencing, and keynote participation. The possibility of IIR joining the upcoming side event at OEWG 47 in Bangkok (7–11 July 2025), organised in cooperation with IGSD and focused on “International Training Standards”, was also discussed.
The outcomes of these strategic meetings—further strengthening CSG and ATF’s role in international technical cooperation—will be officially presented at the XXI European Conference on the Latest Technologies in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, to be held in Milan on 12–13 June 2025, bringing together global experts to address emerging challenges, new technologies, and sustainability policies in the HVAC/R sector.
