SUCCESSFUL MADAGASCAN TRAIN-THE-TRAINERS: AIR CONDITIONING AND FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS BEST PRACTICES

In the frame of the HCFC phase-out management plan for Madagascar, from 23rd to 25th March 2022 the Train the Trainers event delivered by Centro Studi Galileo took place in Antananarivo, in cooperation with the national Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

17 Madagascan Trainers and Technicians took part in the event, which was hosted in the “Centre National de l’Eau, de l’Assainissement et du Génie Rural”, focusing on installation and maintenance of R290 air conditioning systems; the distinctive feature of this training session was the final hands-on exercise the installation of a few hydrocarbons air-conditioners at selected facilities, which was carried out successfully by the trainees, under the direct supervision of CSG Expert Trainer Madi Sakandé, further President of U-3ARC, the Union of Associations of African Actors in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

After completing a very full agenda during the three days, which included topics such as the refrigerant circuit, refrigerants and components, safety and best practices, the participants took the REAL Alternatives test for flammable refrigerants and were awarded the certificates of attendance, at the presence of national authorities.
