UNEP-IIR-CSG European Conference: the programme of the 20th Anniversary is announced!

Presidents, Speakers and Audience of the 19th EUConfRAC in Milan, June 2021

2023 will mark the 20th edition of the renowned European Conference on The Latest Technologies in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning”. In the wake of the striking success of its 2021 edition, the 20th European Conference will take place on 8-9 June 2023, as customary at the Polytechnic University of Milan; the event will welcome – in person! – the global leading experts from UN Agencies, HVAC/R Associations, Institutions and the industry, under the Auspices of the Italian Ministry for the Environment.

Back in 1973 the first-ever Conference on RAC technologies was hosted by Centro Studi Galileo in its hometown, Casale Monferrato (Italy); its importance kept growing through the years and, since the latest 20 years, it counts on the collaboration of United Nations (UNEP) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIF-IIR), along with the most recent inclusion of the European Association of RAC Contractors (AREA).

In the strive for the continuous improvement of the latest technological advances and solutions to tackle climate change, with an underlying focus on supporting the United Nations in reaching the renowned 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the 20th European Conference will be a unique learning and exchange opportunity for the entire HVAC&R sector, thanks to high-level presentations and lively debates.

On June 8th, after a general introduction by the conference organizers, the first session’s speakers from the main RACHP Institutions and industry will present the new refrigerants and future perspectives in light of the EU F-Gas Regulation’s update and energy saving; the second session will follow, focusing on the latest technological solutions, with particular attention to new equipment and components that work with alternative refrigerants, in consideration of environmental protection and energy efficiency.

The Conference will continue on June 9th with the third session, dedicated to policy: the EU F-Gas Regulation revision proposal, training, international certifications and the worldwide HFCs phase-down; it will be followed by the fourth session about developments on heat pumps, energy efficiency and green cooling. Prior to the conclusions, the event will feature the fifth session on the cold chain, featuring an up-to-date debate on new control technologies, cold storages and refrigerated transport, including discussions on food and vaccines conservation led by the main international experts on this crucial topic.

In this significant moment of global change and adaptation, the 20th European Conference will shed light on pivotal topics thanks to scientific presentations held by representatives of the major Associations and Institutions worldwide, together with leading industry representatives. Following the great success of the 19th edition – held in hybrid modality, the 20th Conference will allow once again for both in-person and on-line participation of attendees, encouraging a broad participation on a global scale; it will be, therefore, a great learning opportunity for the attendees, to engage in a relevant debate while deepening professional knowledge all the while.
