Centro Studi Galileo celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event organized in the heart of the 21st European Conference on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies, held at the Polytechnic University of Milan. At the end of the first day of sessions, participants were invited to a commemorative cocktail that combined conviviality and recognition for a history spanning half a century.
Amid toasts and memorable snapshots—thanks to a photo point set up for the occasion—CEO Marco Buoni delivered a heartfelt thank-you speech, emphasizing the international journey of the organization and the leadership role achieved in training on cold-related topics. Alongside him and the CSG staff, historical figures from the Center participated: the founder, Prof. Enrico Buoni, and the very first lecturer, Marino Bassi. The staff wanted to pay tribute to Prof. Enrico Buoni with a commemorative plaque, presented at the end of the concluding speech.
A special video, available at the beginning of the article, opened the celebrations, retracing the fundamental stages of the Center, now a global reference in training on refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps. The symbolic moment of cutting the cake was entrusted to CEO Buoni, in the presence of the main institutions in the sector and the winners of the third edition of the international “Women in Cooling Video Competition”.
In memory of the event, a painting was created featuring the signatures and photographs of the participants of the conference and the evening. A celebration that brought together professionals, technicians, and stakeholders in a collective tribute to the history and future of the Galileo Study Center, ready to face the upcoming global challenges of the energy transition.
